Hot Chocolate
January 5 - 27, 2008
This first exhibit in the cold, dead month of January will feature the warmth of BROWN. All media will be represented in this open call to regional artists -- and the hot chocolate pot will be on for visitors all month long!

Portfolio Gallery: Reflections
On display through January 14 will be individual school winners of the PTA-sponsored "Reflections" art competition for grades kindergarten through 12. The program theme for 2007-2008 is "I Can Make A Difference By...". After being judged to determine city winners, those winning pieces of art will go on to Aberdeen to be judged at the state level of competition. Winners there go on to the national competition.

Augustana College Art Exhibit
January 30 - March 2, 2008
This exhibit of Augustana college fine arts student work features drawing, painting, and several three-dimensional works.

Eighth Annual Regional High School Exhibit
March 5 - March 30, 2008

Students from area high schools submit their best works; then the combined exhibit is judged for awards. A Visitor's Choice Award will also be given, so stop in and look over this fun exhibit!

Artist Reception & Awards: Sunday, March 30, 2008, 1:00 to 3:00 pm, with the Award Ceremony beginning at 2:30 pm.

Xtreme Quilts

Water, Water Everywhere!

This is an open exhibit for regional artists, featuring works depicting water -- rainfalls, landscapes with water, rivers, oceans, lakes, underwater scenes, anything water-related. All media.

Artfalls Preview Exhibit

Artists juried in to Artfalls 2008 display their works during the month before the Artfalls Fine Arts Festival, to be held the last weekend of June -- June 28 and 29 -- here in Falls Park. All types of media will be represented. Watch for demonstration schedule for ArtFalls weekend in the Horse Barn -- SD Rosemalers, SD Woodcarvers, China Painters, Spinners, and the Crossthreads Fiber Guild.

This annual exhibit of the Sioux Falls Artists League again exhibits the versatility and wide range of artistic expression as member artists working in all media will be represented -- stop in to see works of the largest artist organization in the area.

It has been two years since the Center for Active Generations exhibited their art in the Horse Barn. While several of their members are active volunteers and artists at the Horse Barn, this is the occasion for all the Center members to show off the great art they create all year round.

Nomadic Project
September 3 -- 28, 2008
View all 50 states in paintings done by Kristin Abraham in her journey across America with husband Alfonso Llamas. This artistic rendition will give viewers in the community a new view of this country, and help them to discover that the nation's unity lies in celebrating its diversities.

This is a solo exhibit featuring Wormington's bold and colorful works.

Tenth Annual Juried Competition
September 30 - November 2, 2008

Artists from a four-state region are invited to participate in this annual exhibit. Final exhibit is judged for cash prizes which will be awarded at the artist reception.

Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony: Friday, October 3, 5:00 to 9:00 pm; Awards Program at 7:00 pm
This night is also the Fine Arts Trolley Tour, highlighting galleries and art studios from the Washington Pavilion to the Horse Barn in Falls Park.

Portfolio Gallery: Dakota MasterWorks
Winners of the Dakota MasterWorks competition will be featured in the Portfolio Gallery October 16 through November 18. For more information on Dakota MasterWorks, go to South Dakota Health Care Association.
