2008 Summer Art Camps at the Horse
Barn!
New this year: Four-day classes for ages 6 to adult learners, in beautiful
and historic Falls Park!
Cost per student for each camp is $50.00. Class instructor is artist Lisa VandeVegte. Students are asked to bring a drink and snack for
break time. Sun screen and casual/art clothes encouraged. All class supplies are included. Class maximum 10; minimum 6.
All classes will begin in the Hrse Barn Arts Center in Falls Park.

| Queen Bee Castle |

June 9-12; 9am-Noon |
Young kinds and queens can enjoy the history of the grand mill while creating art and adventures. Learn to draw a castle,
paint a waterfall, "forge" a foil sword, and create a dazzling crown. Write an adventure story, team up for a treasure hung and climb the "Look Out
Tower". |
| Horse Art at the Barn |
Age 8-12 |
July 28-31; 9am-Noon |
Learn the origins of the Horse Barn Arts Center and improve drawing skills as you sketch horses, ponies, even zebras or
unicorns. Look at famous artists like Rosa Bonheur, Oscar Howe and Mr. DaVinci. Visit with a local artist who paints horse scenes. Final project
is an acrylic canvas painting of a magnificent horse. |
| Buffalo Bridge |
Age 13-18 |
July 28-31; 1-4pm |
Designed exclusively for teen artists, this week will feature drawing and painting from nature, animals and varied artwork from many cultures.
Study and sketch the buffalo sculpture in Falls Park; landscapes, bison, horses, turtles, and birds. A special guest artist will share their professional
art. Select your best completed painting for a concluding art exhibit in the Horse Barn Gallery. |

Whether just beginning or refreshing your skills, enjoy learning the history and properties of acrylics; paint on papers,

| Watercolor Painting Group |
Fourth Tuesday each month
6:00 pm – 9:00 pm No Charge
Horse Barn Arts Center in Falls Park
This informal group of watercolor painters meets at the Horse Barn every fourth Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm. No instruction is provided -- artists
must bring their own materials. This is a time to share the joy of watercolor painting, do some networking, possibly learn new techniques. |
| Writing Group |
Second and Fourth Wednesdays each month
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm No Charge
Horse Barn Arts Center in Falls Park
If you are interested in getting some input, critique, feedback on your writing -- whatever form -- join this group that meets at the Horse Barn every
second and fourth Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm. Writers share work with each other at meetings or through email. Many levels of experience are
represented. The group is new, so this is the time to voice your opinion of its direction and format.
